Right now, it’s all about: crabapples poached in sweet wine, garden planning, Sister Citizen, mood boards, Herkimer diamonds, Doc Martin, chanterelle bookends, a foam alphabet mat, Fizzie’s Lunch Lab Food Camp, jade plants and decade-old photographs of a month-long trip to Italy.
Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass…It’s about learning to dance in the rain.
Right now, it’s all about: the hot summer grass, walks on the waterfront, spicy lemon cucumbers, homemade mint blossom syrup, just-picked oriental lilies perfuming the house, new notebooks, My Japanese Table, golden mushroom soup with mung bean noodles, a young hen’s first eggs, one perfect poached egg, lavender soda water from Frog N Kiwi, a sweet Korean melon, cherry almond clafoutis, the lovely folks at Blue Lily Photo, a luscious gelato trio at The Pike, and finally, our return to the homestead to watch tiny little feet dancing in the spray of the water hose.
why are we motivated to blog? it can be multiple factors that get squeezed into a blur of nonsensical rambling thoughts around midnight (after the family is tucked into their beds), but to sum it up, it’s about our artistic expressions. our creative forces are being joined together as our lives enter new phases. we are learning how to step outside the realm of every day words and we now have a chance to delve further into our interests, our whimsy, our life.
this chance, this opportunity is what we are pursuing. this BYW class is our time to learn from those who have traveled down this path and have kept their joy. we are learning to direct our minds and our energies. it is a push to find our voice.
